Tibor "Ted" Rubin

Tibor "Ted" Rubin

Cpl., U.S. Army

Rubin survived a concentration camp and vowed to join the U.S. Army should he ever make it to America.  After he did, he embodied the Army core values in Korea on multiple missions. While holding a hill near Pusan, he fought viciously for 24 hours. In another, he fired until the last round but was severely wounded and captured.  He was offered freedom yet loyally remained with his comrades and proved invaluable to their survival by scavenging food, medicine, and more. He received a long overdue Medal of Honor in 2005.
