Remembered as a trailblazer, Johnson-Brown’s legacy is that of relentless advocacy, resilience, and pursuit of excellence. Earning the title “Army Nurse of the Year “ twice, she drafted the first Army Nurse Corps Standards of Practice and developed scholarships for ROTC nurses. Her selfless service continued post-retirement as a teacher and later a volunteer at Fort Belvoir’s hospital when many employees were deployed to Iraq.
