Keeble enlisted after the attack on Pearl Harbor, forgoing his recruitment by the Chicago White Sox. His courage and ability in combat would become well-known among the ranks and ultimately inspire his company to move forward & seize its objective near Sangsan-ni, Korea. With no regard for his own safety, Keeble rushed to join pinned down troops and led a one-man assault to destroy multiple enemy positions.
