During the Battle of the Bulge, Mill’s 4th major battle, his company was surrounded by 15,000 forces yet held their ground for two days. Survivors were taken as POWs, and he was forced on a brutal walk across Europe until liberation in April 1945. He is remembered for his mentorship, resilience, patriotism, and as a true gentleman that invested in people.
