Known to be a clever intellectual, Harding convinced Gen. Omar Bradley of the importance of officer studies for mastery of the profession. As the Army struggled to transform and adapt for warfare of the time, he successfully revitalized 3 military publications which resulted in surging subscriptions and renewed professional discourse in the interwar period. Today, his work has been renewed through the CSA’s “Harding Project.”
