Anna Mae Hayes

Hayes served in three wars: WWII, Vietnam, and Korea. In a 2 ½ year assignment to India, she worked in a primitive hospital that cared for over 49,000 patients in that time frame. She is credited with making the Nurse Corps a more effective organization that included many positive changes like better training, higher standards, and improved policies.
